The course at a glance
Cabo Real Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-71 layout of 6,848 yards, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and operated by Questro Golf, which also runs Puerto Los Cabos Golf Club and Club Campestre San Jose. The course sits inside a 2,800-acre resort and residential development with 3.2 miles of beachfront. Those figures are the operator’s own published specifications, and tee times and current rates are published there too. The course is also described as undergoing enhancements as part of Cabo Real Surf Club, the new residential community being built within Cabo Real.
The front nine
The front nine plays inland, through desert arroyos and the foothills behind the community. Elevation change is the defining feature: several tee shots drop or climb enough to change your club, and the natural washes come into play more than they look like they will from the tee. The par-4 fifth plays across an arroyo en route to the beach.
The back nine
The back nine is the stretch people remember, running down toward the water with the Sea of Cortez in view. The operator describes every hole on the course as offering a view of the sea; the closing holes are where that changes how you play, because wind off the water becomes a real factor rather than a scenic detail.
What this means if you are buying here
Fairway-facing homes and condos are oriented very differently from the oceanfront ones: the light, the wind exposure and the noise profile all change. If you are weighing a golf-front property against a beachfront one, walk both at the time of day you would actually be at home. We can arrange that, and can tell you which Cabo Real neighborhood sits where relative to the course.
